Professional

info

I am a PhD-level mechanical engineering lecturer with experience in finite element simulation, mechanics of materials (metals, polymers, composites, nonwoven fabrics), CAD modelling, constitutive modeling and material characterisation based on my strong background of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering.

Work

experience

Research & Teaching Associate
2013 - present
Loughborough University, UK

-Research on “Oxidation damage at a crack tip and its significance in crack growth under fatigue-oxidation conditions” funded by EPSRC (British Research Council). Development of a new model to simulate the interaction of oxygen diffusion and oxidation induced damage with crack-tip deformation and further apply the model for prediction of crack growth under fatigue –oxidation conditions with validation against experimental results.

-Teaching/assisting undergraduate and graduate level courses in Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering Departments

       *Mechanics of Materials – A (Lectures/tutorials & Lab) (Undergraduate)

       *Mechanics of Materials – B (Lectures/tutorials & Lab) (Undergraduate)

*Engineering Design Methods (Supervised term projects)

*Finite Element Analysis (Lab) (Undergraduate & Graduate)

*Supervised/co-supervised several undergraduate and master’s final years projects (Master’s    student won first prize award in 2013, Project title: Surface Integrity and Tool wear in Ultrasonically Assisted Machining)
